University or Apprenticeship? Helping Your Child Decide

This question gets asked as though it has a right answer that applies to everyone, and it genuinely doesn't. Both of those things only really reveal themselves in practice, which is exactly the problem when the decision has to be made in advance.

Try-a-Career won't tell your child whether to go to university or start an apprenticeship directly, but it can show something genuinely useful either way: how they actually approach a realistic work scenario, whether they think it through carefully before acting, how they handle a decision with incomplete information, where they're naturally strong. That's real evidence about how they work, and it's relevant to both paths, since both ultimately lead to a working life it's worth understanding themselves for.

It's a short, free exploration, not a test, and a good thing to do together before a decision that genuinely matters gets made on incomplete information.
